• Chapter 10 Regaining GroundAlpha stumbled backwards “The… the Twilight Wolf Howl?” Amy and Steven got to their feet. They both charged with unison punches. Alpha slide in a guard for a couple feet, but when he looked up Steven was about to dropkick him. Steven landed his attack while Amy went around back and caught him. Arc ran over and punched him in the face “Alpha why did you summon that fireball?” Arc asked angrily. Steven and Amy were now both glaring at him. “So you were the one who tried to kill us?!” Shouted in his ear. Steven walked up “Where’s your base Alpha?” Alpha smirked “Why should I tell you when you’re about to die anyways?” Arc looked like he was listening to something. Steven looked over “What is it Arc?” Arc put his finger in front of his mouth “Sh, What is that? Amy throw him into the river!” Amy looked puzzled “What?” Arc ran over and ripped his Trench coat off reveling a bomb “He’s got a bomb throw him into the river!” Amy threw him and as soon as he hit the river the bomb exploded. The shock wave knocked them all unconscious.Arc woke up first the next day. “What the… Amy! Steven! Are you all right?!” Arc ran over to Amy and check for a pulse and breath. He repositioned her into a more comfortable position. Then checked Steven. “Good, they’re both still breathing. Alpha blew himself up before we got any information. Crap, now what?” Arc walked over to the lake. As he was standing near the riverbed he noticed a little piece of paper. “Hey, what’s this?” He unfolded the paper “This is the same kind of writing as on the book. I’ll keep a hold of this.” He refolded the paper and put it in his pocket. As he did that he heard someone moving behind him. It was Steven. He started to get up and Arc went over to help him. “Hey, Steven you ok?” He asked once Steven was up. “Yeah, I’m fine. What about Amy?” Arc pointed to Amy “She’s breathing, but I’m not a doctor.” Steven walked over to her “Well, I studied a little. Let me see.” He checked her vitals. “I think she might have a concussion.” Arc walked over “You studied a little?” He asked in disbelief “Man I hope your wrong.” They both stared at Amy for a couple of seconds. Arc looked up “Hey, if Alpha and Zeta are dead can’t we take her to a hospital?” Steven thought about it “I guess we could, but what would we tell them we were doing in the woods?” Arc looked at Steven and replied “Camping.”Arc picked Amy up carefully. Steven looked at Arc “When they ask about Amy are we just going to tell them that we woke up one morning only to find she had a concussion?” Arc thought about it as they picked up speed “What about a bear? Thankfully we scared it off with the fire.” Steven nodded “I guess that could work.” As they neared the end of the deep forest they noticed that detectives were investigating the dead animals. One of them walked up to Arc “Hey, kid what are you doing here?” Arc responded quickly “We were camping a while back and a bear attacked we need an ambulance!” The man looked down at Amy “Ok come with me, but were not done talking about this.” Arc and Steven nodded.
