- Like Meatball has said, it is really best to start drawing from human anatomy. That way you can get natural proportions down and basic human anatomy. I know it's probably boring to draw humans, who are so plain compared to anime/manga characters. The expressive eyes and endless possibilities of gravity defying hair (and boobs). I just realized that this was from 2010... I don't even know if you still get on Gaia... well... I hope you have continued your passion. Take care!

- If you are starting off, I suggest you do so by referring to actual human anatomy. I know it is a pain in the a**, but it's really the best way to go. I began drawing the human figure in the style of anime in grade six, and I struggled ever since to actually get proportions and whatnot right. Now I don't even like drawing in that style because it's so overused. I am, even at this moment, referring to a human anatomy book to better my skills.
